The USPS wants to ensure each of our postage payment system mailers presenting presorted letters and/or flats are reminded of the Move Update requirements and the fact that additional postage will be charged to mailers and mail presenters when our verifications indicate they have surpassed the threshold for Move Update compliance.

I am sending you this reminder about the updated requirements for Move Update presorted letters and flats because I want to be sure you and your company are ready. We have many resources to aid you in being successful. Please use the following link to access this information: http://ribbs.usps.gov/index.cfm?page=moveupdate . The following is the implementation timeline:

1. November 2008 final rules published in Federal Register 2. Mid-February non-compliance threshold will be announced.

3. Mid-March reports showing results of Move Update verifications will be made available to Mail Owner and Mail Preparer.

4. May Price change will be the start date for applying additional postage charges for non-compliance.
